Discovery Point of Duluth: Incredible Impacts in 2014

At the start of each new year, Discovery Point centers strive to find new ways to better help their students succeed. Whether it’s adding an extra community service activity to the schedule, or improving enrichment programs, the overall goal is to design greater opportunities for children to become creative and confident thinkers.

Michelle Malizioso, owner of Discovery Point Duluth, worked with her staff to accomplish many outstanding goals in 2014 to better serve her students, their parents, and the entire Duluth community. One of their greatest accomplishments was being re-accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children; receiving a score of 90 or above for all classrooms. The Duluth location also maintained their status as a Quality Rated Center, which recognizes educational programs that meet standards above and beyond what licensing requires in the state of Georgia.

Along with their national and state recognitions, Discovery Point of Duluth continued their efforts in-house by improving their enrichment programs with weekly music and Spanish classes for students. To make a difference in their community, the educational center raised $500 for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation through various fundraisers, completed a successful Toys for Tots campaign, participated in Discovery Point’s annual Diane’s Devotion Coat Drive, and participated in a local food drive.

Discovery Point of Duluth, along with all Discovery Point locations, achieved many great goals in 2014. We are excited to see what’s in store for 2015.
