About the Owner
After successful careers in the corporate world, Hong and Jan Chen were drawn to something new involving their passion for child development. Opening a Discovery Point Child Development Center was the perfect way to do so. Their two boys ages, 6 and 2, are their motivation towards this change. Their international experiences have allowed them to appreciate and understand the diversity of culture and family background. They believe this is essential for a child’s unique development.
Hong was born and raised in China. She moved to Denmark and lived there for three years before moving to North Carolina. Jan was born and raised in Denmark. He lived in Venezuela for a year, and then moved to China for close to three years. Hong and Jan moved to Heritage, North Carolina in 2009 where they reside with their family. The Chen’s are extremely excited to be opening the first Discovery Point Child Development Center in North Carolina and believe Heritage is a perfect community in which to open this top-notch facility. Community involvement is very important to the Chen’s and they look forward to strengthening this community with a positive impact on children’s lives and education.
The Chen’s belief in the Discovery Point experience drove their decision to open and operate their own Discovery Point. Their goal is to make an impact on children in the early stages of their lives by creating a loving, educational and nurturing environment.
