Creative Curriculum

Creative Curriculum is considered one of the top four curriculum choices in the childcare industry. Discovery Point has chosen Creative Curriculum for its research based methodology, teaching strategies, and its learning taking place in a variety of activity areas including; blocks, dramatic play, reading/literacy areas, art, toys and games, computers, small and large group sessions, music and movement, science, and outdoor play. The detailed lesson plans begin each day with a question. This “inquiry” format is very much the way preschoolers think. Every parent will relate to their child asking “Why?” questions all day long. There is flexibility in planning and instructions so that the teachers can bring in their own creativity. The curriculum includes “Mighty Minute” skill cards that turn waiting and transition times into teachable moments and “Intentional Teaching” cards that can be used with a specific lesson or used flexibly throughout the day. Creative Curriculum has an online assessment for tracking student progress as well as teacher and student resources in English and Spanish.
