Discovery Point Partners with Toys for Tots for 2017 Holiday Season

ATLANTA (November 1, 2017) – Discovery Point announces its national corporate partnership with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity, to raise funds this holiday season to benefit children – specifically those above the age of eight years old.

According to the National Center for Children in Poverty, approximately 15 million children live in poverty in the United States. The Toys for Tots program collects tens of millions of toys during October, November and December for less fortunate children throughout the country. Each year, however, Toys for Tots has a deficit in monetary and toy donations for children over the age of eight years old.

Although Discovery Point has participated in local Toys for Tots drives in the past, this will be the first year for the company to contribute on a national level.

“We are very excited about our national partnership with Toys for Tots, specifically raising funds for children over the age of eight who are often under supported through local drives” says Andrea Moore, Executive Director of Operations, Discovery Point. “Our centers serve children from 6 weeks to age 12, so we align very well with Toys for Tots’ mission and reach. With the ability to designate where in the U.S the funds we raise will be spent, we are looking forward to giving back to the communities we serve across the Southeast.”

In addition to holding a national fundraising drive, participating centers will also continue to collect new to support the organization at the local level. Online donations will be accepted here.
