Discovery Point Teacher Spotlight: Mrs. Karmyla Story

Karmyla Story, Discovery Point Pre-K teacher, has dedicated her career to investing in the lives of her students. Since joining the staff at Discovery Point, Mall of Georgia in 2010, Mrs. Story has continuously gone above and beyond the call of duty inside and outside of her classroom. Whether it’s spending extra time working with her students, meeting with parents, completing referrals or even sending resources home for parents to accomplish with their child, Mrs. Story does everything in her power to make sure her children get what they need.

Director of Discovery Point, Mall of Georgia, Brooke Webb, shared, “She has a way with children and people that is indescribable. Recently, Mrs. Karmyla was presented with a challenge to begin teaching a group of children that had a hard time focusing, standing in line properly and transitioning into centers. Within two weeks, she had them rotating centers on their own, sitting for small group, communicating clearly, and most importantly, she had them excited about learning! The way she transformed the children and the classroom was incredible. The parents are amazed at how much their children have matured and learned in such a short period of time.”

Discovery Point is extremely proud of the impact Mrs. Story has made with the students, parents, and staff of the Mall of Georgia location. She is a true asset to our educational program and embodies what every Discovery Point teacher strives to do each day: offer a warm and safe learning environment, loving attention, and create a love for learning in his/her students.
