Summer Camp in Conyers: Go for the Gold!

If you could build the perfect summer program for your child, it would probably include plenty of fun activities along with some valuable learning. At Discovery Point Conyers, our summer camp includes all of these aspects, giving school-aged children a well-rounded experience. We are excited to announce that this year’s theme is “Go for the Gold,” and it’s sure to be a medal-worthy summer!

About Our 2020 Summer Camp in Conyers

For this ten-week program, each week will focus on a unique unit and theme that ties into our overall “Go for the Gold” motif. From Egyptian gold in the pyramids, to the Olympic gold medals, we keep the students excited about learning with interactive lessons and activities. Each week also holds a themed literature reading, which we will use to tie into the activities and educational content.

Here are some of the activities we incorporate into our summer camp:

• Hands-on cooking projects
• Science experiments
• Arts and crafts projects
• Uplifting talks from guest speakers and teachers
• Physical fitness challenges
• Puzzles, games, and riddles

Our instructors are great at building educational content into the activities listed above. Our program is literacy-rich, teaching reading and comprehension. To keep things balanced, we also include history, science, math, art, and drama in our daily lessons as well.

We are excited to embark on this year’s theme, as it will help us impart many lifelong lessons and skills. “Go for the Gold” means boosting self-confidence and perseverance, while also recognizing the importance of hard work. Our summer camp is also great for giving local children an opportunity to interact with their peers and improve their social skills.
