Mrs. Kayla Receives 2014 National Child Care Teacher of the Year Award

Discovery Point Cumming is proud to announce that our Early Learners Lead Teacher Mrs. Kayla has been selected as a recipient of the Terri Lynne Lokoff/Children’s Tylenol® National Child Care Teacher Award! This is a huge honor, bestowed to only 50 early childhood education teachers nationwide each year. Kayla is a gifted teacher who has brought her warm, compassionate and patient care of the preschoolers at Discovery Point Cumming for over 8 years.

Mrs. Kayla’s Award provides funding for her project entitled “Promoting Fine Motor Skills”. The project is based on her experience in teaching Down Syndrome and physically handicapped children. Developing fine motor skills are equally important in pre-literacy development of children of all capabilities.

Mrs. Kayla is Discovery Point Cumming’s second recipient of this prestigious award. Kayla joins our Infant Room Lead Teacher Ms. Penny who was a 2013 Award Recipient.
