Do I need experience to open a Discovery Point location?

There’s no need to have experience as a business owner or experience in the field of child care to succeed as a Discovery Point franchisee. We’ll teach you everything you need to know and will support you throughout your journey of owning a daycare business.

What equipment is included with a new location?

Our start-up packages are comprehensive, including everything from computers and cribs to playground equipment. Your center will be fully furnished with the requisite supplies and equipment for you to get up and running.

How many children does a typical location serve?

Discovery Point locations can typically serve approximately 230 children, but this number can vary according to local licensing requirements.

How many square feet is a typical location?

The custom-designed buildings of our child care centers have 14,000 square feet.

What are the hours of operation?

Discovery Point centers typically operate from 6:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. 

Does Discovery Point help with site selection?

Yes. The site selection process is managed by our experienced team, and you’ll have hands-on assistance with every aspect of choosing a strategic site and building out your center.

What kind of training can I expect?

You can expect in-depth initial training that allows you to hit the ground running from the first day you open the doors of your daycare business. Our training program is led by a highly experienced operations team, guiding new franchisees through an in-depth four weeks of training in regulations, marketing, staff scheduling, and other crucial topics.

Will I receive help in marketing my new daycare business?

Absolutely! We offer pre-enrollment marketing support to build excitement in your area before your grand opening. We also provide access to all the materials you need to make your center visible within your community. Plus, we are constantly working on advertising campaigns to build the reputation of our brand as a whole.

When will my location open?

There are a number of factors that must be considered when calculating your opening date, from whether you purchased a new or existing franchise location to the timing of your training and any local licensing that needs to be completed. 

You’ll have our help at every stage of this process, and our knowledge and experience can help you avoid many time-consuming obstacles along the way.

Do I have to purchase the curriculum?

No, our proprietary Discovery Point Connections^® curriculum is included in our franchise packages, enhancing the value of the opportunities we offer.

What is the typical investment for a Discovery Point daycare business?

The initial investment for our franchises ranges from $400,000 to $600,000 to own the business, building, and the land. Resale opportunities at a lower price are also available.

Does Discovery Point provide financing to franchise owners?

We do not offer financing to franchise owners. However, due to the stability of the industry and the strong reputation of the Discovery Point brand, banks, and lending institutions typically find our franchises to be appealing, giving franchisees a range of loan options. 

What are your royalties?

Our royalty fee is $6,500 per month. This flat-rate fee is discounted to $4,700 for the first year of ownership.
