Discovery Point Twelve Oaks – Bradenton, FL

Discovery Point Twelve Oaks, the Child Care Franchise’s First Bradenton Location, Opens Soon

Duluth, GA, October 26, 2020 — Discovery Point Child Development Centers, a leading educational child care franchise, will soon be opening its new center in Bradenton, Florida.

Discovery Point currently has 47 locations across the Southeastern U.S., with centers in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

The Discovery Point Twelve Oaks center will be owned and operated by Dr. Roger Clough and Mrs. Robin Clough and is scheduled to open in early December 2020. Enrollment for the center has kicked off, with educational child care offerings from ages 6 weeks up to 12 years. Roger and Robin are originally from upstate New York. They have two teenaged children, McKenzie and Owen, who are both involved in sports and music. The Clough family moved to Florida in the summer of 2020 and are excited to open a new Discovery Point.

Having been a Superintendent of Schools for 11 years in New York State, Dr. Clough brings educational experience and expertise to Discovery Point. While her husband’s background is in education, Robin Clough worked for the United States Customs Service and Homeland Security for 25 years.

“We’re delighted to welcome Roger and Robin as the newest members of the Discovery Point franchise family. We’re pleased to be able to introduce our high-quality brand of child care to an entirely new community,” said Cliff Clark, Discovery Point Founder and CEO. “We are looking forward to seeing how the Cloughs implement their vision to meet the specific needs of Bradenton parents and their children.”

Discovery Point’s extensive experience in the child care industry has helped them develop an approach to high-quality child care that has proven to be effective throughout the franchise’s 30+ year history. All Discovery Point child care centers are constructed with the safety, well-being, and educational development of our students in mind.

Some highlights of Discovery Point’s offerings include:

  • Discovery Point’s proprietary Connections Curriculum® is designed to foster creative thinking and boost language skills as it focuses on early language development and literacy.
  • Teachers who are trained in early childhood education, providing each young learner at Discovery Point with the support they need to grasp complex concepts and practice crucial skills. Discovery Point centers feature low student-teacher ratios to allow for plenty of individualized interactions.
  • Lesson plans that provide a structure for child directed learning. Children have a natural curiosity that leads to educational discoveries. It’s the job of Discovery Point educators to encourage them and provide opportunities to follow those unique interests. Each center is constructed with age-separate playground areas and bright, open classroom plans to promote safety, exploration, and both independent and group learning.
  • Discovery Point’s range of child development programs provides developmentally appropriate, educational care. Our goal is to foster a love of learning and nurture independent thinking that grows with children as they advance through each age group.

The Bradenton location will mark the 48th active Discovery Point center, and its 13th in the state of Florida. Discovery Point centers have a distinctive design that incorporates years of childcare experience into their construction and layout. Features include an open floor plan with clear sight lines, easy access between classrooms, and efficient use of multi-purpose spaces. The Discovery Point Twelve Oaks center will be an updated, modernized version of Discovery Point’s traditional center layout – the first location to retrofit an existing building into a child care center. Completion of construction and the grand opening of the center is scheduled for early December 2020.
