Her father was in the US NAVY and therefore she became a military brat. She was born in San Diego, California and before she was a year old we transferred to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Then to Tiverton, Rhode Island, and her father finally retired to Lutz, Florida. Having lived so many places her brothers and her became extremely close. They now don’t live as close as she would like them to. Her brother Tony lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and her brother Ryan lives in Auburn, Alabama. She moved away from home when she went to college. She graduated from the University of West Florida were she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Art/ Art Education. Ms. Miriam

Preschool 3 Teacher Team Member since: 1/11/12 Ms. Miriam comes from an ity-bity farming town called Immokalee where they only have one of EVERYTHING; one McDonald’s, one Burger King, one High School, one Middle School. Moving to Tampa four years ago has probably been one of the most exciting experiences of her life thus far. She’s the second oldest of eight siblings….Mario, Jeffrey, Noah, Kiana, Kenan, Timmy, Karen and Kichna and they are the reasons why she strives to succeed. She wants to continue to be someone who they can look up to. As much as she complains about her classes and her professors, she loves school and loves to learn. She is currently a student at the University of South Florida majoring in Early Childhood Education. Four years ago she decided to leave home to start this new journey she calls “life” you know…..the one where there’s no more Mommy, Daddy or free rent…so far she loves it and wouldn’t trade it for anything. Upon completing her schooling she plans to travel across the world to share her knowledge with children in less fortunate places. Music, FOOD and little people make her weak in the knees. In her spare time she enjoys watching TV, eating, cooking, baby sitting, leading the Outreach Ministry at church and reading her bible. Joining the Discovery Point family has been one of the most rewarding work experiences in her life. She says she’s never met a group of people so caring, understanding and eager to help. She wakes up every morning anxious and excited to come to work…and if there’s ever a morning that she’s not so thrilled to come to work all that changes as soon as she walks through those doors and she’s greeted with nothing but smiling faces. Every day she thanks God for giving her the ability and compassion to care for and love children. He made her with a big mouth but with an even BIGGER heart.

She has grown up around kids her entire life and without them wouldn’t be who she is today. Watching them grow over the course of the school year is such an exciting process and being able to be a part of their lives and teaching them at the same time is such an honor. To tell you a little bit about her, she was born in the beautiful state of New York and then moved down to Tampa, Florida when she was still in elementary school. She attended Sickles High School and graduated from the University of South Florida where she received my Bachelors in Sociology. GO BULLS!Ms. Theresa comes from an enormous Italian family consisting of 11 siblings including several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews too! Family gatherings definitely require large amounts of food, several tables and lots and lots of space. There’s never a dull moment around the Esposito clan and she feels truly blessed to belong to such a wonderful and remarkable family. If she could describe myself in just three words it would be outgoing, funny and adventurous. Her hobbies include music, the beach, live shows, camping, traveling and hanging out with my friends. One of her main passions in life is singing. She has been singing ever since she was 7 years old and totally loves it. She recently just auditioned for, “The Voice” (which was such an amazing experience); she has performed in show choirs, bands, school choirs and so much more. Chef Nick

Team Member since: 2/16/15 Mr. Nick is the cook here at Discovery Point. He says the best part about his job here in the kitchen is seeing how excited all of the kids get when he brings snacks and lunch to their classrooms. All of the teachers and directors here at Discovery Point make working here an enjoyable and rewarding experience day in and day out. He currently has an Associates in Arts Degree from PHSC and is attending HCC to earn his second associates degree in Pre-Radiology as he aspires to become a radiologic technologist. One of his biggest passions is hockey. He played hockey for 14 years in Florida. Yes, you read that correctly. Hockey is pretty big in the state of Florida and he’s traveled to just about every corner of the state playing it. He had a chance to showcase his skills when he was 16 as he was invited to partake in an event called Hockey Night in Boston where he represented Team North Florida in a week long tournament of non-stop hockey in Massachusetts! It was an experience he will never forget. The Tampa Bay Lightning are his favorite professional hockey team and he goes to games just about every month. Hockey is something that has brought my family extremely close and it is a passion that he plans to pass down to his own children. Disney is another passion of his and this only came about a year ago when he met his girlfriend, Brittany! Because of her, he is an annual pass holder and they visit the four parks just about every month. The obsession is real, let me tell you. They collect Disney pins and their collection has grown to over 500 pins. If the obsession doesn’t seem bad, he listens to his Disney Pandora station while he works in the kitchen. He has even named his three cats after Disney characters. HE MAY OR MAY NOT BE OBSESSED WITH DISNEY. He looks forward to cooking for your kids during this school year and seeing their excited faces when he brings food to their classrooms!
