At Discovery Point Old Peachtree, we are excited to announce this year’s summer camp theme: Go for the Gold! This is the perfect program for school-aged children in the Lawrenceville and Old Peachtree Road areas to make the most of their summer vacation!

About Our 2020 Summer Camp

Drawing inspiration from the upcoming 2020 Summer Olympics, we have chosen our Go for the Gold theme in order to encourage confidence and goal-oriented skills with our students. Each week, we will feature a new exciting adventure, with themes ranging from buried treasure, to Egyptian gold, to the Olympic gold medals. With new weekly units, our summer camp is a great way for children to spend time off from school while still building their knowledge. 

We incorporate plenty of educational content to help your child retain the skills they’ve learned in school, while also learning new lessons. Most of our weekly units and lessons are literature-focused, building on reading and comprehension skills. However, we do have a well-rounded approach that also brings in science, math, art, and drama.

All of our lessons are built to include fun activities that keep children engaged and excited. Here are a few examples of our activities:

• Cooking projects
• Science experiments
• Hands-on activities
• Physical fitness challenges
• Field trips
• Puzzles, games, and riddles
• Educational talks from guest speakers

By incorporating educational lessons into fun activities, we give your child the opportunity to have a well-rounded summer. Some children are likely to regress on key skills during the summer months, but our programs help them sharpen skills such as reading and math. We also encourage a variety of lifelong skills, including team building, friendship, and self-confidence.
